Smith has been with the Titans since 2011 and serves under four different head coaches. He has held a number of positions, including coach, attacking line assistant, quality control coach and defensive quality control coach.

Prior to joining the Titans, Smith was the defending quality control coach for the 2007-08 Washington Redskins for two years under legendary coach Joe Gibbs. In addition to his coaching role, he also worked in 2007 as a university research assistant in Washington. In 2010, Smith worked at Ole Miss as an administrative assistant / defense intern, primarily with the lineouts.

Smith studied at North Carolina, where he played offensive and later worked as a graduate assistant on the Tar Heels coaching team (2006).

He was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and went to high school at Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, Md.). Smith and his wife, Allison, currently live in Nashville with their two sons, Tanner and Liam, and their daughter, Sophie.
