An image waving the Pakistani national flag during a congressional rally is shared on social media.
An image of a green flag waving during a political rally went viral with the claim that it is the Pakistani national flag waving during a congressional rally.
Several users shared this picture on Facebook. The caption in Hindi for such a statement translates as: ‘It is much better to bear the extra cost of petrol rather than to vote for a party that raises anti-India slogans and raises Pakistani flags in their rallies. ‘
The demand comes amid rising fuel prices across the country. Fuel prices rose for the tenth consecutive day on Thursday, with a petrol price of 89.88 Rl per liter in Delhi.

India Today Anti-Fake News War room (AFWA) has found that the claim is mostly false. The green flag under the Congress flags seen in the viral image is not a Pakistani flag but the party flag of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), a political party from Kerala. The image was taken during a political rally in northern Belgium ahead of the Karnataka Assembly election in 2018.
