The actual incident

Using InVID and reverse image search we found that the same video was uploaded by several YouTubers in the first week of December 2020. These videos name the place as ‘Warje flyover, Pune’.

Using keyword search we found news reports on the incident . The article published by “Dainik Bhashkar” contains the same video that went viral.

According to these news reports, a truck caught fire on the evening of 5 December 2020 on the Warje fly in Pune. No one was injured in the incident. The driver of the truck jumped from the vehicle and saved his life. According to police, the truck was transporting food items. As a result of the fire, vehicle movement on the Katraj-Dehu road, in the direction of Kolhapur from Mumbai, was affected.

On the other hand, when the video started spreading on social media from Gachibowli flying in Hyderabad, the Cyberabad police tweeted an explanation on 14 January 2021. ‘This viral video is not from Gachibowli. This is a FALSE news. It happened a few days back on the Warje Bridge in Pune. “No such incidents have occurred in Hyderabad,” it tweeted.

Therefore, it is confirmed that the viral allegation along with the video is misleading because the incident is one month old and happened not in Hyderabad but in Pune. It was also not an oil tanker, but a truck that caught fire.
