Fact check: the TikTok video does not show the trump caravan that performed on the trump for January DC protest

Social media users are sharing a TikTok video with a caravan of supporters of President Donald Trump. Some reports claim that the video shows demonstrations that were on their way to Washington DC to protest on January 6 against the result of the presidential election. However, similar footage has been circulating since at least November 10, 2020.

A search on the handle @ Kilawhale58 on the video platform TikTok shows that the clip was placed in this claim on November 14, 2020 (bit.ly/358slfW).

The edit seems to be a slightly clipped version with a presentation of the footage posted by the same TikTok account on November 10 (bit.ly/2L7cnvE). The comment section of this post states that the video was recorded on November 1, 2020 in Washington state and that the caravan ‘travels to a farm in Olympia to gather’.

Another video of the 1 caravan in Olympia, Washington, was shared by a local reporter on Twitter here . Other footage referring to the event has been posted here, here and here, on YouTube by the same user (@ Kilawhale58).

Incorrectly marked. The video was first shared in November 2020 to show a pro-Trump caravan in Washington state on its way to a meeting at Olympia before the presidential election, not protesters heading to Washington DC in January 2021 .
