Social media users shared posts online with a quote about Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her family attributed to former President Ronald Reagan. This quote seems to have been fabricated.

The quote reads: “Nancy Pelosi is extremely angry, she comes from the Baltimore Democratic corruption machine, the D’Alesandro family, as well as her father, Tom D’Alesandro, and her brother, Tommy D’Alesandro, were mayors of Baltimore, a well-oiled corrupt democratic family. . – Ronald Reagan 40th President of the United States. ”
Nancy Pelosi, formerly Nancy D’Alesandro, was born on March 26, 1940 (here) in Baltimore, Maryland. Thomas D’Alesandro Jr. was the mayor of Baltimore, Maryland, from May 1947 to May 1959. Reuters found no evidence that Reagan ever made this quote. It does not appear in searches in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum archives (here) or the National Archives (here).
Melissa Giller, head of marketing at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, told Reuters in an email: “Not only did President Reagan never say that, but I searched through all of his presidential speeches over the eight years, and he mentions Nancy Pelosi never even. once. ”
Fact-checkers Snopes, PolitiFact, Check Your Fact and FactCheck.org unleashed that claim in 2019 (here, here, here and here). No one could manage to find records of a quote like this said by Reagan.
