Fact check: New photos of the recipient of the vaccine of the British COVID-19 vaccine have been released after the second dose

Social media reports have made the false claim that the first recipient of the COVID-19 vaccine in the UK was photographed with the same clothes a few weeks apart, and that it doubts the truth of the images.

Margaret Keenan first received the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine at her local hospital in Coventry on December 8, a week before her 91st birthday (here).

Three weeks later, she receives a second dose needed for the vaccine to provide maximum protection.

Social media users claim photos of her receiving the first and second doses show her wearing the same outfit.

Some point to a BBC article (here) that reported on Keenan receiving her second dose on 29 December.

The article contains a photo of Keenan wearing the distinctive Christmas jumper she was wearing when she first got the jab.

“BBC first tells us that Covid ‘Vaccine’ wife just had her SECOND JAB … WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES ??! ???!” ask for a post sharing the article (here).

However, handout photos show that she is wearing a gray striped sweater, not a Christmas one (here) when she receives the second dose.

Claims about Keenan as a crisis actor have already been denied by Reuters (here, here, here).

VERDICT

Untrue. Keenan was a sincere recipient of the COVID-19 vaccine and photos of the handouts were made available showing how she received both doses, dressed differently on each occasion.
