Indian Railways has messed up certain media reports claiming to have canceled special trains until March 31, 2021. The government’s own fact controller – PIB Fact Check has completely rejected the allegations made by these media reports.
PIB Fact Check described these reports as false and further stated that allegations made in these reports are misleading and not based on facts. PIB Fact Check stated that Indian Railways has not yet made such a decision on this.
In a tweet from PIB Fact Check, the fact checker says that Indian Railways has not made any decisions until 31 March 2021 to cancel special trains.

In response to these media reports, the Ministry of Railways issued an official statement stating that news reports that IR will cancel its trains currently in operation until 31 March 2021 are purely misleading and not based on facts.
It added: “Wrong news items are being spread on social media. Everyone can be notified that the video being spread is last year’s news.”
The ministry further stated that the Indian Railways continue to run express trains and suburban trains as special trains. The Ministry also requested passengers to follow COVID-19 safety protocols while traveling.
