Fact check: Fake Twitter accounts of Mithun Chakraborty appear after actor joined BJP

Since Mithun Chakraborty joined the BJP in Kolkata on March 7 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a number of Twitter accounts have appeared in his name. These reports consistently post sarcastic remarks targeting West Bengal Minister Mamata Banerjee.

India Today Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) found that Mithun recently created a Twitter account.@mithunda_offAnd try to get it verified. This is his only real Twitter account. All other reports in his name are an imitation of him.

With so many accounts claiming to be Mithun’s official Twitter account, netizens are left confused. Let’s look at three such reports that present the actor with the maximum number of followers.

Account 1: @ M_Chakraborty16

Reply to a tweet by the Twitter handle “@ M_Chakraborty16‘, A user said that this account used to be active with the handle’ @SwetaaSinghAT ‘.

Using this as a clue, we used ‘Twitter Advanced Search’ to find the tweets directed to ‘@SwetaaSinghAT’. This led us to a tweet in which a person addressed ‘@ M_Chakraborty16’ as ‘Sweta Ji’.

Account 2: @mithun_da_

Each Twitter account has a unique Twitter ID number. The handle of the Twitter account can be changed, but the Twitter ID number remains the same.

Use “TweetBeaver”Tool, we found the Twitter ID number of the handle“ @mithun_da_ ”. When we searched this ID on the Yandex search engine, we found that the same account used to be the singer Sonu Nigam, and that he was active with the handle “@ Sonuniga_M”.

We also found a tweet in which ‘a person’@mithun_da_”As“ @ Sonuniga_M ”.

Account 3: @TheINDAshking

When we searched the Twitter ID number of the handle “@TheINDAshking“, We found that in the past the same ID was used to handle” @ThechitraLive “with usernames” Aishwarya kulshreshtha “,” M. S Bitta “and” Dr. Chitra Sharma ”.

We found a stored archive of the handle ‘@ThechitraLive’, which was also used earlier in the name of ‘Nita Ambani’.

Mijun’s manager, Vijay Upadhyay, spoke to AFWA and confirmed that the actor had not had a social media presence until recently. ‘I recently came to my knowledge that many fake Twitter accounts are managed in the name of Mithun da. I have already informed him about this, “said Upadhyay.

We also spoke to the Bengali unit of BJP who told us that Mithun recently created a Twitter account.@mithunda_offAnd try to get it verified.

‘The Twitter tutorial @mithunda_off was created because some people created fake accounts in the name of Mithun Chakraborty. We also plan to lodge a complaint against the Twitter accounts that appear to him, ‘said Dilip Ghosh, Bengal BJP chief’s personal secretary Dev.

It is therefore clear that the Twitter accounts @ M_Chakraborty16, @mithun_da_ and @TheINDAshking do not belong to the actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty. His only Twitter account is ‘@mithunda_off’, which he recently created and is trying to verify.
