Facebook’s early success Farmville shuts down to end-of-life Adobe Flash Player

Note virtual farmers: you are now retired.

One of Facebook’s earliest successes, “Farmville”, is no longer supported by Adobe, reports CNN.

“Farmville” was a popular game more than ten years ago.

Users tended to use digital lands and harvest fake vegetables.

The game closed for Good Thursday, a victim of outdated Adobe Flash Player software.

Adobe has decided to kill Flash after it declined in popularity due to its difficulty in working on mobile phones.

Apple completely blocked it from its iPhones in 2010, citing security issues.

Adobe has now dropped support for Flash and will block all Flash content on January 12th.

If you still had money to spend on adding ‘Farmville’ to the app, game maker Zynga says ‘hard luck’.

It does not issue refunds on the money.
