Free DLC is coming soon Cyberpunk 2077 in ‘early’ 2021.
A few weeks ago, during an emergency meeting, CDPR president Adam Kiciński said that was the case. “too early to judge” what would happen to the game’s DLC and multiplayer mode, but added that “it is ahead, so we do not know yet. We are now focused on improving Cyberpunk and will discuss it early next year.”
Before Cyberpunk 2077 was released, CD Project revealed that several DLC expansions and a multiplayer mode were in the works. The developer has previously talked about multiplayer mode not be released before 2021 at the earliest, and the announcement of the DLC expansions has been delayed ahead of the launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
Now, however, a new page has been added to the game’s website, and while it gives very little away on what players can expect, it does confirm that ‘free DLC Night City will hit early in 2021’ and asks players to ‘stay tuned for more information’ (thanks, NME).
As we summed up at that point, it all comes after Cyberpunk 2077’s pretty disastrous launch on both PS4 and Xbox One. After the players have given the assurance that the game has run “surprisingly good“on last generation platforms, CD Projekt Red leadership apologized for the bug-raiddled launch of the game on both platforms, after players encountered numerous bugs, errors and visual downgrades. CD Project Red leadership said the cost of repairing Cyberpunk 2077 on last generation ‘platforms’irrelevant“compared to the hit that their reputation took over the launch.
As a result, Sony took “Cyberpunk 2077” from the PlayStation Store “until further notice” and started refunding to anyone who bought Cyberpunk 2077 in the PlayStation Store and wanted their money back. Microsoft then added a warning to its Xbox Store window.
Last week we reported that CD Project investors were unhappy about the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 considered legal action against the company and now it appears that a law firm in New York has gone ahead and filed a class action lawsuit.
During our reporting last week, two prospective legal challenges emerged, one from Warsaw, Poland and one from New York. Now a separate NY firm called Rosen Law filed for damages on behalf of CD Projekt investors.
