A Pennsylvania man has been let out by his ex-girlfriend after trying to stop Congress from recognizing President Joe Biden’s election victory, according to court documents.
The woman may have decided to reject law enforcement after she was insulted.
“If you can not see that the election was stolen, you are a fool,” Richard Michetti sent an SMS to his ex-girlfriend, according to the criminal charge. “This is our country, do you think we live like kings because no one sacrificed anything?”
“[T]he vote was fraud and trump won, but they will not judge the votes, ‘he added.
Michetti’s former partner provided the FBI with text messages and videos a day after the January 6 uprising. She also identified him in other images that apparently appeared inside the US capital.
The FBI also received a receipt showing that he reported to a DC hotel on January 5 and checked out a day later.
Michetti is charged with access to a restricted building, violent access and disorderly conduct on the Capitol site and obstruction of the work of Congress.
According to The Morning Call, he was tried at the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia on Tuesday and released on bail.
Numerous investigations, including investigations led by elected Republicans, found no evidence that there was significant fraud in the 2020 election. Nevertheless, former President Donald Trump enchanted his supporters – and threatened state election officials – which culminated in the violation of the American Capitol which delayed the certification of Biden’s victory in the Electoral College.
More than 265 people have now been arrested and charged with participating in the Capitol riot.
