Everything in Deep Rock Galactic’s Update 33: New Horizons

Deep Rock Galactic send players who tunnel through strange worlds in search of minerals, scientific knowledge and heaps of money. Update 33: New Frontiers launches Thursday and the patch will appear on the Xbox One on February 11th.

There are two new biomes that dwarfs can explore, each with its own set of deadly enemies. Azure Weald is a bioluminescent, fungal area that is beautiful and full of enemies, while the Hollow Bough is a Hoxxes VI region with carnivorous enemies and organic environments. These cards and their unique challenges should shake things up.

Meanwhile, the development modes for the elimination, storage and point extraction are adjusted. Elimination will have two new Dreadnought variants: a large Hiveguard and some deadly twins. This will add a bit of variety to the usual battles in this mode. Point Extraction has a new Minehead machine, and Salvage will allow players to repair broken MULE units to make discovering and exploring the map easier.

This is a good update for streamers, as there are eight new “streamer safe” tracks in the foyer’s jukebox. Players can dance and hang out between games, and these songs that are safe ensure that Twitch will not hit players with a DMCA to dance to some copyright grooves.

The full notes can be found on the developer’s Steam page. Update 33 also includes some new cosmetics, including a free hat. According to Ghost Ship Games, Deep Rock Galactic has sold more than 2 million units in the past year since leaving early access.
