Evanescence Detail Graphic anthology ‘Echoes From the Void’

Evanescence announces a new graphic novel series, Echo’s From the Void. The five-part fantasy anthology contains stories based on themes from the group’s songs.

The first title – written by Carrie Lee South and Blake Northcott, illustrated by Abigail Larson and Kelly McKernan – was inspired by “Better Without You” and recent single “Wasted on You”, which appears on their upcoming fifth LP. The Bitter Truth.

“I’m so excited about this project series,” Evanescence singer Amy Lee said in a statement from the anthology, which is part of Incendium’s OPUS print. ‘The possibilities are endless. The collaboration between art forms like this is so unique, and it was fascinating to see how many different lives a song can have, like alternative realities. I look forward to working on this all year and am so honored to break this new world open for our music. ”

Lee took an active role in the series and oversaw the creative direction of the stories and artwork. The debut print of each issue will be sold as a limited edition of slips, limited to 3000 copies per piece. The first is now available to pre-order and according to the Incendium website it will be shipped in June. A limited-edition Glow-in-the-Dark lithograph is also available to pre-order.

The Bitter Truth, on March 26, is the first Evanescence MP with new material since their self-titled MP from 2011. “The energy was only boosted,” Lee said Rolling clip in November with their latest recording sessions. “We were on fire there. Now the guys are back at their homes, and I wave through the aftermath of all the music, work it out together and finish the record. ‘

She noted that the pandemic exclusion gave the group extra time to catch up and focus. “Even on the days I don’t want to,” she said, “I get out of here and go, ‘let’s do it. Let’s finish the album. ‘”
