ERCOT prepares all utilities across the state to make a blackout this weekend

The Texas Electric Reliability Board (ERCOT) manages scheduling on an electric grid that carries 90 percent of Texas’ cargo.

Fannin County, Texas – Fannin County Electric Cooperative advises its members that ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) has put all utilities across the state on standby to cause eclipses this past weekend due to the predicted icy temperatures.

If ERCOT instructs the Fannin County Electric Cooperative to initiate the blackouts, the cooperative staff will have one hour from the time of the notice to start dumping electrical cargo over various parts of its system in 15 minutes, with 2-3 hours between the interruptions. .
