Fortnite pro Jonathan “Yung Calculator” Weber claims that emails from Fortnite account are being leaked to the public. Epic replied and cleared the air.
Rankings are one of the most gripping elements of a competition. For top players, rankings allow them to see how they are performing against the competition – whether it is in a tournament or with a season-long competition.
In Fortnite, rankings are commonly used for stat tracking and tournament placements. However, in the early hours of January 22, the Fortnite pro Yung Calculator claimed that Epic Games had leaked sensitive information to the public.
In a Twitter video, the Fortnite pro claims that rankings leak emails to the public so that bad actors can recover the passwords of popular players.

“It’s pretty bad in itself, but if they have your email address, they can send the password reset to your account,” Yung Calc said. “It’s normal, normal – on Twitter, it usually means nothing”, but on Epic Games it logs you into the game. ‘
“It happened to Clix, Nick Eh 30, Nate Hill – everyone,” he continued. “Epic Games does not know what they are doing. Their infrastructure is rubbish. They need to change it – it’s shameful. ‘
After it all came out, several people started pushing back. Data Miner @FNBRUnreleased has gone so far as to say that such a thing is not possible. ‘It’s not possible to view another person’s epic email [account]. Epic’s API does not work that way. I saw this rumor of [Yung Calculator] the dissemination of false information. ”
Epic Games responds to leaked allegations
This all led to an official statement from Epic Games. After investigating reports, they issued a tweet in which they told their followers that this was not the case.
“We are confident that the accounts in question will remain secure, that player information (including email addresses) will not be disclosed and that any issue with the logout will be resolved.”
Yung Calc finally deleted his tweet, saying, “I’m also deleting the original tweet, as I say Fortnite Tracker caused it, while apparently not.”
It is alleged that forerunners are still being reported to their accounts at some point. On this front, Calc said: ‘I’m not a coder, do not expect my knowledge to be 100% about things. What I do know is that it was not Casper, the ghost, who signed the pros. ‘
Finally, it’s good to know that our accounts are not being leaked to the public. In honor of Epic, they were quick to respond to this news and reassure everyone’s minds.
