Entergy is asking its customers to save electricity on Wednesday night as the cold weather brought demand to an overall high approaching, officials said.

Entergy asks customers to take the following steps:

• Lower the home’s thermostat to 68 degrees.

• Open blinds, curtains and drapes to let in heat from the sun.

• Postpone laundry, laundry, bath and other non-essential use of electricity.

• Wash clothes with cold water, cook food in the lowest possible place and do not keep the oven door open during baking.
