Astros players were not subjected to this during the shortened season in 2020, as fans were barred from the ballpark due to the coronavirus restrictions. Fans still seem bitter about the fraud scandal that forced the dismissals of Jeff Luhnow and AJ Hinch. No active players were involved.

Houston drew up a plan during the 2017 championship season in which the boards of opposing players would be handed over to the excavation and an employee would strike on a trash can to tell the Astros batter that was coming, an MLB investigation revealed.

Current Astros driver Dusty Baker has argued that their debt has already been paid.
