Engelbert Humperdinck pleads desperately after he and wife, actress Patricia Healey, contracted the novel coronavirus.
The 84-year-old singer asked for prayers in a candid video on Wednesday, sharing his Instagram and Facebook, saying their COVID-19 diagnosis “made it quite impossible” for Healey to see medical professionals while still struggling with Alzheimer’s.
“As a result, it hit her pretty hard and she did not eat or drink,” he shared. “When all your prayers are gathered, God will send the right message and the right angels and the right people to shake her hands.”
“Please help with a quick prayer. This is the most important thing,” Humperdinck continued.

In the caption, ‘The Last Waltz’ crooner, he and his family “needed a miracle for my darling wife.”
“Her Alzheimer’s and the stroke of Covid needed all the love she had ever given to get back to her a million times,” he explained.
According to Humperdinck, the family prays every night at 20:00 PST for Healey and ‘everyone who suffers from the pandemic and other life-threatening diseases’.
“Therefore, my friends, I do not feel selfish in this question, for we must all pray for one another,” he wrote, asking fans to pray with him.
Humperdinck added that he feels for those who cannot be with their loved ones during the pandemic, and that he is very grateful for the time he spends with his wife.
Humperdinck only spoke at the end of January about his and Healey’s COVID-19 diagnosis, write on Twitter, “After almost a year of abundant care and attention, Covid caught up with us and found a way to our home …”

Humperdinck and Healey have been married since 1964. The two have four children: Scott, Jason, Bradley and Louise.
In 2017, Humperdinck revealed that Healey has been struggling with Alzheimer’s for about ten years now.
