Emelec was involved with Deportes Tolima (Colombia), Talleres (Argentina) and Bragantino (Brazil) in the round of the South American Copa-2021 groups, following the series that Conmebol took place in Luque, Paraguay.

The 2021 South American Groups phase will take place from April 21 with the participation of 32 continent teams.

Corinthians (BRA), Sport Huancayo (PER), River Plate (PAR), Uruguay 2 (the winner of the Montevideo City-Phoenix llave of the first phase of the South American Cup).

Newell’s Old Boys (ARG), Palestino (CHI), Goianiense (BRA), E1 (the loser of the Libertad-Atlético Nacional team in the third phase of the Libertadores Copa 2021).
