Elvis Presley is about to make someone the king of rock n ‘roll memorabilia – that’s when you make the winning bid on a guitar used for his famous return in 1968.
The folks at Kruse GWS Auctions are handling the auction of Elvis’ rare cherry red Hagstrom Viking II guitar. EP slammed this ax when he shot the long-awaited TV special on NBC, signaling his return to live music performance … after a 7-year hiatus focusing on film roles.

This guitar contains numerous Elvis history beyond the special – it was featured on the cover of his “From Elvis in Memphis” album cover, and it was once displayed in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum.
The winner of this auction – which starts on March 27 at 10:00 – will also receive sheet music from the 68-TV specialist. This is a nice cherry on top, especially as Kruse GWS expects the guitar to fetch between $ 750,000 and $ 1 million.
And for those who are overwhelmed on the guitar, there are no worries … there are other cool Elvis memorabilia on the auction block as well – as she personally owns 14k yellow gold and blue enamel TCB (which takes care of business) necklace.
In the non-Elvis division – Elizabeth Taylorpersonally owned earrings, sharpeners and necklace … as well as the 1950s Cadillac Fleetwood from “The Godfather”.
