Coinbase does not currently support dogecoin, a memo coin with a Shiba Inu. The crypto exchange is published via a direct listing on Nasdaq. Its valuation rose to more than $ 100 billion before the IPO.

Musk tweeted on Saturday: ‘Dog Day Afternoon’ and described the description of the ‘Origin of Dog Day Day Afternoon’. The Tesla CEO wrote: “The ancient Romans sacrificed a dogecoin at the beginning of the Doge Days to appease Sirius’ anger, believing that the star was the cause of the hot, humid weather.”

He continues:

Why are you so dogmatic, they ask … I get a Shiba Inu #resistancefutile.

Musk was elected Dogecoin’s CEO in a Twitter poll in 2019, but he said earlier that all of his dogecoin – related tweets are not meant to be taken seriously. ‘Sometimes I make jokes about dogecoin, but it’s meant as jokes. Dogecoin was made as a joke to mock the cryptocurrencies. It is clear that, ”Musk revealed during a clubhouse interview where he also roasted the CEO of Robinhood about Gamestop.

The adoption of Dogecoin has been reinforced by Musk’s various tweets and support from celebrities, such as Shark Tank star Mark Cuban. Bitpay recently added DOGE to its list of supported cryptocurrencies, and a growing number of cryptocurrencies now support dogecoin.

The Cuban NBA team, Dallas Mavericks, accepts dogecoin for tickets and merchandise through Bitpay. On March 6, he tweeted:

The Dallas Mavericks have done more than 20,000 dogecoin in transactions, making us the largest dogecoin trader in the world.

“We thank you all and can only say that if we sell another 6,556,000,000 dogecoin value to Mavs, dogecoin will definitely earn $ 1,” he added. At the time of writing, the price of DOGE is below $ 0.06.

Meanwhile, bitcoin bull Mike Novogratz says Cubans are making a mistake by making fans of his sports team pay with dogecoin. ‘I think Mark’s making a mistake there. He would be better off paying 15 other ways to pay for his tickets, ‘Novogratz said, expressing concern that investors could be hurt by pouring funds into dogecoin. “Let’s put our people in the safest, best things, no, you know, these joke coins,” the Galaxy Digital CEO suggested.
