Elon Musk talks to Tesla Cybertruck size, updated design with Joe Rogan

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said last month’s Q4 2020 earnings call said his company had completed the design of the Cybertruck and was almost finished with its engineering. After the call we reported on how we think the call doubts about the Exoskeleton. Last year, we reported that Elon expressed the idea of downsizing the truck and rather said that the truck would undergo “minor improvements” to the design after concerns about the ability to fit in a garage or parking lot.

Now, after it appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast for the third time, that seems to be the case.

‘This is about what it is [the Cybertruck] will look, with very small differences. You know, we’ve adjusted the size a few percent. Like about 3% or less. “You don’t want it to be a few centimeters too big for the tunnel,” Musk said.

He is, of course, referring to the Boring Company’s tunnel. The Cybertruck fits, but was ‘pretty cozy’. Maybe the three percent did the thing.

Interestingly, Musk said last year that 3 percent would be too small, he thinks has changed wholeheartedly.

In terms of production, there may be a slight delay. Currently on Tesla’s Cybertruck ordering website, the expected production date of the two-engine and three-engine models for late 2021 has been set. However, this is not the case. Musk says there will be some deliveries by the end of this year, with production of the volume sometime in 2022.
