Elon Musk, SpaceX and Tesla head honcho, appear on the super-exclusive sound house app for sound Sunday night I joined the Good Time Show to discuss all things about Mars and become a multi-planet species. The app, which allows people to create rooms for conversations, has not fared too well. The limit for participants is set at 5,000 – and it was quickly overwhelmed when Musk fans heard them the world’s richest man talk.
Still, enterprising YouTubers and Discord servers have surfaced and for those interested in Musk’s waxing and philosophizing, there have been surprising allegations about Mars and apes. In typical Musk fashion, he made some brave statements about when people would come to the red planet, discussed his Twitter reminder, and made some of the progress his team has made at Neuralink. It was a twisty and sometimes bizarre, but some interesting details about Musk projects were revealed.
Let’s start with Mars. If you’re wondering what Musk’s timeline is for getting people to Mars, you might be surprised.
“Five and a half years,” Musk told hosts Sriram Krishnan and Aarthi Ramamurthy at the start of the program.
It is known that musk too ambitious deadlines set for his projects, from Tesla to SpaceX, but five and a half years to get Starship from the ground and transport people to another planet? This is a completely different level of ambition. But it’s not a tough deadline. Musk mentions a number of caveats – there is a series of technological advances that need to be made in the intervening years.
“The most important thing is that we establish Mars as a self-sustaining civilization,” he said.
Monkey brain
After Mars, Musk received applause for his meme abilities, which he attributed in part to ‘meme dealers’, before being a little more serious: Neuralink, the brain implant he founded in 2016.
The latest update, which came in August 2020, showed a “Fitbit-like” implant “in pigs, but we have not heard too much since – and no scientific articles have been published in the meantime. Musk said new videos with progress will be released within a month appear.
“We have a monkey with a wireless implant in their skull that can play video games with his mind,” Musk said. Of course, there is no evidence for this, and this is the second time we have heard Musk discuss it. “Can we let the monkeys play with Pong?” he thought.
Another caveat – Musk pulls it right back and makes it clear that these are long-term goals for the brain implant device. The initial investigation focuses on how it can help those who have suffered brain and spinal injuries.
“I want to be clear.” Musk said: “the early applications will actually only be for people with a serious brain injury, such as where the implant is just enormous.”
Doge away
One of the biggest stories of the past week was there the stock market, Reddit and GameStop’s big rally. But it was Bitcoin that Musk drew his attention to. “I’m late for the party, but I’m a proponent of Bitcoin,” he remarked before drawing his attention. Dogecoin, which has had its own increase over the past week.
This cryptocurrency has risen by more than 300% and peaked last Thursday, although Musk did not seem particularly attached to it, beyond his comic nature.
“This is probably the most entertaining outcome, but the most ironic outcome is that Dogecoin will become the currency of the Earth of the future,” he joked. Crypto-tracker CoinDesk immediately after Musk’s comments showed a small discount on the price of Dogecoin.

At the end of the discussion, Musk was able to rattle off a few things he was currently looking at. We threw in some of the quotes below.

At the end of the discussion, Robin Ten CEO Vlad Tenev joined the interview to talk about the GameStop and Reddit saga, and Musk encouraged him. “People are demanding the truth,” Musk said.
“Did any shadows come down here?” Ask Musk for Tenev.
“I would not charge shadows or anything like that on behalf of the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC),” Tenev replied.
This was a typical case of the Musk consciousness stream, which turned on for about 90 minutes. Clubhouse absolutely could not sustain the question and the conversation moved at a brisk, confusing pace, but oddly … it was entertaining? When Elon speaks, it seems like people are willing to listen and you never know where things are going to end up.
