With the end of 2020, Boston Dynamics’ Atlas, Spot and Handle take the internet by storm in a new year-end video showcasing their latest skill: dance.
The now viral ‘Do you love me?’ video shows how the robots make a move to the eponymous Contours song.
The video has hit YouTube more than 5 million times since Wednesday afternoon.

Many Twitter users were amazed at the dancing skills of the robots compared to the jerky movements of the 2016 version of Atlas, including Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, who is a visionary himself.
“Snake-headed dog had my undivided attention until wind-headed ostrich game slipped through all the nonchalant,” Musk tweeted on Wednesday.
One Twitter user said it was “pretty amazing how dance robots make people less intimidating” and that they “look forward to seeing more awkward machine learning on these robots.” Musk, however, had more reservations about the seemingly light-hearted video and responded to the tweet with a simple ‘Less?’

According to some tweets, the billionaire was not the only one with mixed feelings.
While others celebrated the robots and their movements, fellow TikTokers could compete.

The robot company’s latest dance video comes just two years after Spot dug up ‘Uptown Funk’.

Earlier this month, Hyundai acquired a controlling interest in Boston Dynamics from its previous owner, Softbank. The deal, valued at $ 1.1 billion, gives the carmaker an 80% stake in the company. Softbank will retain the remaining 20%.
Boston Dynamics plans to expand the Spot product range early next year with an “enterprise version of the robot with greater levels of autonomy and remote inspection capabilities.” It also plans to release a robotic arm, which will be a breakthrough in mobile manipulation. In addition, the firm plans to enter the logistics automation market with the launch of a mobile robot for warehouses in 2021.
