Elon Musk seems to be living up to his promise of ‘no home ownership’: the Tesla billionaire has sold three more of his homes, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
On December 21 and 22, Musk – the second richest person in the world, with a net worth of $ 167 billion – sold three adjoining homes in the Bel-Air area of Los Angeles for a combined amount of $ 40.9 million , the Times reported, citing property records.
The largest house – a mansion with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms located on 1.5 hectares of land – was sold for $ 29.72 million. A colonial-style house of 3,943 square feet across the street sold for $ 6.77 million, while the smallest house, a single-story house from the 1960s, sold for $ 4.43 million.

According to the Times, all three homes are on the same cul-de-sac in Bel-Air.
The Bel-Air homes are among different pieces that Musk sold in 2020. In October, Musk sold the former estate of actor Gene Wilder for $ 7 million, $ 250,000 more than Musk paid for it. The home was sold to an LLC run by screenwriter and producer Elizabeth Hunter, who is married to filmmaker Jordan Walker-Pearlman, Wilder’s cousin, Variety reports.
In June, Musk sold another $ 29 million Bel-Air home to a Chinese billionaire, reports The Wall Street Journal. Musk bought the 20,248-square-foot home in 2012 for $ 17 million.
Musk tweeted in May that he intended to sell ‘almost all physical possessions’ and ‘would own no house’.
