Elon Musk says bitcoin is on the verge of gaining broad acceptance

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said bitcoin was a ‘good thing’ and that it would get mostly attention.

“I think bitcoin is really about to get a broad acceptance by kind of the conventional financiers,” Musk said Sunday night during a club session at the clubhouse. “I do not have a strong opinion on other cryptocurrencies.”

Musk further said that many of his friends have convinced him in the past to buy bitcoin, but he is ‘late for the party’.

The billionaire CEO added that he had to buy some bitcoin in 2013 when one of his friends introduced the crypto currency at the time.

Musk also spoke briefly about Dogecoin, the meme coin he tweeted about in the past, saying he “occasionally” makes jokes about Dogecoin. ‘

“It’s really just meant to be jokes, but you know Dogecoin was made as a joke to joke with cryptocurrencies, of course, but fate likes irony and often a friend of mine says that the most ironic outcome, or I would say the most. an entertaining outcome and the most ironic outcome would be that Dogecoin becomes the currency of the earth in the future. ‘

Musk’s comment comes three days after he added bitcoin to his Twitter biography and posted: ‘In retrospect, it was inevitable’, possibly meaning the bitcoin mention would definitely happen.

Bitcoin rose about 15% with Musk’s mention on Friday and is currently trading at about 2% at $ 33,800.
