Ella Emhoff made her official band debut for American label Proenza Schouler at New York Fashion Week.

The stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris first caught the attention of the public during the inauguration of President Joe Biden, when her ornate Miu Miu coat went viral and her the event’s sartorial breakaway.
Shortly after the ceremony, Emhoff was signed to IMG Models. The agency’s formidable guide includes supermodels Karlie Kloss and Gisele Bündchen, as well as Bella and Gigi Hadid.

Like many other brands, Proenza Schouler is also offering this women’s clothing collection fall-winter 2021 digitally this year due to the ongoing health and safety issues due to the pandemic.

In their campaign video, the concrete perimeter of the Parrish Art Museum in New York is transformed into a temporary runway. According to the notes, the series is aimed at comforting, inspiring and empowering ‘the contemporary woman’. ‘

The collection combines crisp, structured tailoring with knitting that comes together and a range of playful statement features, from long-sleeved sleeves and soft lined slippers to leather socks under structured stilettos.

In a recorded interview for NYFW at Springs Studios in London, Emhoff admitted that he had a first-class restlessness. “I definitely lost a little sleep the night before,” she told Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. “I mean I’m walking for the first time, I’m in a professional environment for the first time … It was a very epic first experience with the fashion world.”

It also seems that plans to create your own brand are on the horizon. “For a long time when I was younger, I wanted to be a designer,” she said. “Then I took it a little more seriously, I started taking courses at Central Saint Martins over two summers … It definitely exposed me to the intensity of the design school.”

Emhoff has been knitting for thirteen years and considers her designs to be unisex. “I want to see guys, girls, people, all wearing striped colorful pants or my dresses,” she said. “I think it would be great.”
