A source who has known the couple for ten years attributes the scandal to Hammer’s ‘very dry sense of humor’ and lack of context behind the alleged texts, while another friend said he was being unfairly targeted.
Hammer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, tell Vanity Fair in a statement: “All interactions between Mr. Hammer and his former partners were consistent. They were fully discussed, agreed in advance with his partners and shared with each other. The stories on social media are designed to be blissful in an effort to please Mr. Hammer. “Hammer hurts, but it does not make them true.”
A Chambers representative declined to question her for the story.
On February 1, the 38-year-old chef posted her own statement on Instagram to address the allegations against her estranged husband, although she did not name him. “I have been trying for weeks to process everything that has gone on. I am shocked, sad and crushed. I feel sad and listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I did not realize how much I did not know, ‘she wrote. “I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help he or she needs to heal.”
