George Harris Prep (Canada) star Enoch Boakye has decided to break up the Michigan government and reopen his recruitment, the 6-foot-11 center tells Sports Illustrated.
“It’s a tough decision because I love Michigan State,” Boakye said. “But this is just one of the situations in which I have to do what is best for me and my future.”
The issue, according to Boakye, a junior, stems from the logjam of the greats in Lansing, which is likely to be longer due to the Spartans’ overwhelming season.
The Spartans are 10-8 and 4-8 overall in the Big Ten.
“By just doing a lot of research with my people and watching a lot of games, it looks like there will be a lot of guys staying,” Boakye said. ‘I want to go to a place where I can have an immediate impact. This is the no. 1 goal of mine. ”

Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Arizona, USC, Duke, Kentucky, Washington State and Gonzaga, according to Boakye, have issued since the dissolution.
“I do not really have a timeline to decide now,” he said. “At the same time, I do not want to waste anyone’s time. I think things will move fast. I think eventually I will get to the top three and then I will announce it. ”
Last season, Boakye averaged 13 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks per game. Sport has been suspended this season in most of Canada due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Boakye said he will be coming to the U.S. from next season to play AAU matches.
“It was hard to do because I loved everything about it,” Boakye said of the state of Michigan. ‘What I’m learning now is that I also have to make a business decision. It has to be the right fit for me in every way, so I open it up to make the best decision. ”
