Tom Brady has a burning desire to win, and he usually does. But if he does not win, it consumes him.
Eli Manning knows this better than most. Manning’s Giants played in two Super Bowls against Brady’s Patriots, and the Giants won both. Manning said Brady was still talking to him about it, and that he was still bothering about it.
“It’s one of those things, it’s not something I ever say or think about,” Manning said. New York Post. ‘I’ve been to Tom’s numerous times and have never raised a Super Bowl or our games against them. He actually brings it up. It still bothers him a bit, especially the ’07 one when they had the chance to leave as the greatest team of all time. But I have no bragging rights with Tom. This is his 10th Super Bowl, and I’m so impressed with his entire career. ‘
The 40-year-old Manning has been retired for a full year, while the 43-year-old Brady apparently does not quit nearly. Manning was impressed by what Brady was doing.
“It’s really impressive what Tom was able to do,” Manning said. ‘Just the fact that you changed teams after 20 years, with one team where you had so much success and during a pandemic you go to a new team, a new city, a new state, where you have a shortened off-season and other rules have and kind of get the same results. Returning to a Super Bowl at age 43, yes, it’s so impressive. It was hard to imagine that it would be possible. He obviously has a special attitude and a special ability to get guys around him to rally. ‘
Even if he could not do it against the Giants.
