No longer can we say that the electric 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is good for big screens and nothing else – because it also has a large range. We are talking an estimated 478 miles per charge, which is more than the Tesla Model S can currently handle. Which is pretty exceptional. You can drive from Tijuana, Mexico to Modesto, California and have some battery left.

Series anxiety is a major downside when it comes to electric vehicles, as most vehicles reach about 200 to 300 miles at most. With slow-charging networks and an unquestionable infrastructure, you’re just asking for consumers to complain. What does it look like to be the reason why Mercedes grows up with the EQS.

Mercedes announced last summer that it intends to have the EQS have a longer range than most other EVs on the market, but the confirmation only comes yesterday when Mercedes a Press release dive into the sedan’s details. Along with the series, there are also quite a few neat details to discover:

  • Top speed limited to 130 km / h
  • Aa output of up to 385 kW
  • 470 horsepower and 560 pounds of torque
  • Various drive options
  • High density lithium-ion batteries with sophisticated thermal management
  • Shorter loading times
  • Collision-protected battery
  • The most aerodynamic production cwas ever made, with a drag coefficient of 0.20

Of course, Europe’s standards for testing the range of electric motors differ significantly from the EPA measurements of the United States – which real series of figures have yet to be seen. We still expect it to be a higher model compared to most other cars on the road.

Either way, the EQS promises an almost astonishing level of new technologies that should boost the electric game in a big way – especially if the batteries that Mercedes has developed are as compact and efficient as he claims.
