Elected Louisiana Congressman dies at Covid

Letlow, who served as chief of staff to former Representative Ralph Abraham (R-La.) Before being elected to fill the seat, would be sworn into Congress Sunday. He is the first member or elected member of Congress to die from the coronavirus.

Letlow leaves behind a wife and two small children.

Government John Bel Edwards expressed condolences via Twitter: “It is with heavy hearts that @FirstLadyOfLA and I express our condolences to the family of elected Congressman Luke Letlow on his departure for a fight with COVID-19.

Liz Cheney, the GOP conference chair in Congress, also laments the passing of Letlow: “Such devastating news about the elected Member of Congress Letlow. A huge loss – we will pray for Luke and his family.”
