(CNN) – Father Francisco is taking his three-day trip to Iraq.
The pontiff says that he can not “decipher a country (a people) for a second time”, referring to a journey planned by the father Juan Pablo II that was later canceled.

The trip, the father’s first in 15 months, since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, has been questioned over security concerns and the covid-19 situation in Iraq.
