El Gobierno de Brasil calls for more reforms over Ford’s health

The Brazilian Ministry of Economy lamented this decision by Ford’s vehicle manufacturer to close its factories in the South American giant and called for the “rapid” implementation of structural reforms to launch a better business environment in the country.

In a statement, the card assured that “intensive work” for the reduction of the cost cost to Brazil, as well as initiatives that “he promoted important advances”.

“It reiterates the need for a swift implementation of the mid-level ambitions of negotiations and advances in structural reforms”, underlined.

The Ministry considered, without embarrassment, that Ford’s global and strategic decision to close its three production plants in Brazil “desentona” with the “recovery force” experienced by the Brazilian industrial sector in the last months.

“The decision of the disassembly contractor with the recovery force observed in the Mayor of the industrial sectors in the country, many record the superior results in the precarious period”, concludes the note.

For his part, Brazil’s Vice President Hamilton Mourao considered that Ford’s salute was “not a good news” and was surprised by the company’s announcement.

“I believe that Ford has won quite a lot of money here in Brazil. I am surprised by this decision”, he said in statements to the periodicals in Brazil.

Mourao also evaluates that the manufacturer “has delayed a bit more” the decision to close its productive plants in the South American country, and that the Brazilian market “is mayor and the other” countries.

This month, Ford announced that in 2021 it will have three production plants in the South American giant as part of a restructuring of its operations in Latin America, which will cost 4,100 million dollars and destroy 5,000 jobs.

In a statement, the manufacturer attributes its health to Brazil, despite more of a series of operations, to the “persistent capacity of the industry and the reduction of sales, resulting in years of significant losses”, incremented by the pandemic of la covid-19.

Ford’s announcement rapidly repercussions in the Brazilian sector’s principals and joins the Federation of Sao Paulo Industries (Fiesp), Brazil’s most influential patron, and the Confederation of Industry (CNI) announces that decision “alert” for the country.

As the Ministry of Economy, both the Fiesp as the CNI will warn about the need to implement reforms, mainly tributaries, with the end of reducing the so-called “Costa Braz” and increase the atmosphere of Brazilian negotiations.

The so-called “Costa Brasil” is an informal indicator that aims at the need or effort required for the production and sale of products in the national territory and, even more so, more difficult will be an economic activity in the country.

On the other hand, the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), the employer of the sector, lamented the decision and recalculated that the Ford “corrobora” salaries are the alerts made about the “local, global and fall” de medidas que reduccan el ‘Coste Brasil’ “. ?
