Egyptian woman arrested for baking pornographic cake

She was accused of distributing food porn.

An Egyptian woman was briefly detained for allegedly baking sexually suggestive cakes eaten at a Cairo birthday party.

Prior to her arrest, photos of the brewed pastries – which decorate cupcakes with genitals and involve lingerie-shaped frosting – went viral online.

The largest Islamic body, Dar al-ifta, told the Guardian, according to the Guardian, that the risky pastry was an insult to Islam.

“Posting nude pictures, candy, holograms and products with sexual expressions and case revelations is legally prohibited and legally criminal,” they wrote on Facebook.

The baker, who has since been released on $ 319 bail, has denied cooking the scandal-clad desserts.

Authorities are also investigating several women who attended the b-day bash, as well as the high sports club that threw the blissful party.

Human rights lawyer Negad El Borai flocked to the pastor’s defense, tweeting that the state wanted to “eliminate any space for personal freedom in Egypt under the pretext of protecting Egyptian family values.”

This is not the first time that Islamic authorities have arrested a woman for ‘immoral’ creations of late. Iranian Instagram star Sahar Tabar was recently sentenced to a decade in prison after taking selfies, making her look like a ‘Zombie Angelina Jolie’.
