EE.UU Chamber of Commerce. will approve a project for ‘dreamers’ and TPS

Washington, United States

The United States Chamber of Representatives wants to approve these juveniles, a migration project that seeks to regularize millions of undocumented young people like “dreamers” and tens of thousands of beneficiaries of TPS (Temporary Protection Status) programs.

The bill was approved with 228 votes in favor (all Democrats and 9 Republicans) and 197 against.

According to estimates by its promoters, there are 2.5 million young people who are living in countries where there are fewer men than their fathers and those who know as “dreamers” or “sons” can benefit from this reform that establishes a way of naturalization.

Former President Barack Obama (2009-2017) approved for the first time in 2012 a temporary regulation for these young people, for Republicans in the courts and since then there has been a long legal battle.

Además de los “dromers”, the project of the también prevé una via hacia la ciudadanía para los TPS, one of the programs benefiting some 400,000 people, in its Central American and Haitian majority affected by natural disasters or civil conflicts.

The document approved by this Jewry is a very detailed version of a project that the Chamber of Deputies approved in 2019 but not passed by the Senate, in which case it is subject to Republican control.

Now the Democrats are dominating the Senate, but for their eventual approval it is necessary that at least 10 Republicans also support it, even if it is at this time.

This project is a step towards the large-scale migration reform that the White House is pushing for in the Congress, which promotes the regularization of 11 million immigrants without paperwork due to the need for support from the opposition.

También forms part of this reform a second project that the Cámara Baja prevails to vote very differently and that busca regularize to agricultural workers.

The Democrats and their apostles presented the reformed reform and considered that with this strategy they could receive the most support from the opposition.

Without embarrassment, the leader of the Republicans in the Baja Camera, Kevin McCarthy, alluded to the current situation on the front with a decade-long dowry of unaccompanied minors and migrant families to justify their opposition to the Middle East.

“With that being high on the front line, it’s probably the only moment the Democrats can sacrifice to make it happen,” McCarthy said. EFE
