Eddie Murphy’s return will not stop soon.
The actor “Coming 2 America” (59) appears with Arsenio Hall in an upcoming episode of Kevin Hart’s SiriusXM radio program, “Comedy Gold Minds”, and confirms that he intends to return to stand- up comedy once the coronavirus pandemic is over.
“My plan was to do Dolemite, Saturday Night Live, Coming 2 America, and then get up. And then the pandemic hit, and it shut down the whole st,” Murphy explained. “Then I went – all the time last year I would have worked on my deed to try to get myself right, and then the whole thing closed.”
He added that “once the pandemic is over and it’s safe for everyone to go out and do it,” the plan is to do it. “

Murphy also spoke about the original 1988 film, “Coming to America”, which reveals an interesting thing about the film: he and Arsenio Hall played every character in the barbershop scenes, which even recently caught Oprah Winfrey off guard when they learned of it.

‘I texted Arsenio last week. I was like, ‘You know, I do not know if everyone knows we’re all characters,’ ‘Murphy said. “I interviewed Oprah last week – I talked about the movie and it was like, ‘Yeah, and then I’m the old Jewish man.'”
“She was like, ‘What do you mean, old Jew?’ “I said, ‘It’s me in the barbershop,'” Murphy continued. “She said, ‘You’re the old Jewish man ?! ‘And she saw the original’ Coming to America ‘. She saw it. You just [don’t] realizing that I was that character. Many people do not realize. ‘

Murphy and Hall also recently appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, Where Hall (65) reveals that the studio had a white actor roll to portray the character of Maurice – played by Louie Anderson.
“I love Louie, but I think we should have put Louie in it,” Hall recalls. ‘We had to sit down [in] A white person. ‘

Similarly, Murphy recalls that Paramount was opposed to the 1988 film having an entirely black cast.

“They were like, ‘There must be a white person in the movie,'” he said. “Who was the funniest White man in the world then? Louie, we knew him, he was cool, so that’s how Louie got into the movie.”

Anderson (67) will repeat his role in ‘Coming 2 America’. The film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday.
