EDC Las Vegas kicks off in May

Put on your dancing shoes: the Electric Daisy Carnival is officially on schedule.

One of the first major music festivals to take place since the outbreak of the coronavirus will, the planned three-day electronic dance music marathon, take place on May 21-23 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway after being postponed twice last year.

“We are proceeding as planned and will work closely with local and government officials to make the show as safe as possible,” EDC founder Pasquale Rotella wrote in an Instagram post, breaking the news. “You can expect the full EDC experience, without saving any details.”

There will be a number of new safety measures to combat any possible COVID-19 problems.

In a 37-page proposal submitted to the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, Rotella outlined a series of measures aimed at keeping the coronavirus at risk.

Each participant and staff member must download a mobile healthcare application prior to enrollment, which enables the user to link their vaccination record or laboratory test results to indicate that they have been vaccinated or are negative for COVID-19.

Masks will be mandatory and the use of COVID-19 odor detection dogs will be considered, including safety regulations.

The essay will be announced soon, and anyone who is unable to attend tickets can transfer their pass to next year’s festival.

Organizers of the event expect 180,000 attendees each night, representing 90 percent of their approved capacity of 200,000 per day.

“We are ready to spread our wings and embrace our community that we miss so much,” Rotella wrote. “We know there may be challenges ahead of us, which we accept and do our best to overcome.”
