Eagles appear All-In on Jalen Hurts as the starting QB this season – EagleMaven
It appears the Eagles’ front office is fully on board with Jalen Hurts as starting quarterback in 2021, after a source close to the situation told SI.com Eagle Maven told former head coach Doug Pederson that Carson Wentz should return as the starter of the team. next season. It was assumed that Pederson wanted Hurts to be his starter in 2021, because after all, it was Pederson who sat for Wentz for the last four games of the season. That was not the case. “Doug did not do the way of Hurts (GM Howie) Roseman at all,” the source said, “(and) the two could not reach an agreement on his future with the team.” This suggests that Pederson was fired on Jan. 11, had more to do with his desire to return assistants like Press Taylor and Matt Burke, and that could be a reason why Wentz is angry at the office. [BLG Note: This report goes against what Troy Aikman previously said about Pederson wanting Hurts.]
Pros and cons of the Eagles trading Carson Wentz – BGN
Wentz may not be very good right now. He has been 17-21-1 as an appetizer since tearing his ACL. He does not appear to be the same athlete after multiple injuries (knee, back, concussion). He was arguably the worst full-time starting quarterback in the NFL last season. It’s hard to have the highest confidence that Wentz will be “fixed” when there is a lot of evidence to suggest that he is not a great coach. He does not appear to have been humiliated by his bank; he reportedly complained to Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman after it happened. There is a lack of self-awareness here.
None of this makes sense – PhillyVoice
If it was a different relationship between owner and GM, would Roseman still be here? Is not his hand in all these movements? Isn’t he on the hook for Pederson’s firing? For renting Sirianni? For the massive contract handed out to Wentz? For setting up Hurts? For the ultimate trade compensation the Eagles receive for Wentz? For the $ 34 million dead money they’ll have to swallow this season if they trade Wentz? For the aging roster full of bloated contracts that will prevent the Eagles from fighting for years to come? And to find the team’s next quarter? Will he ever have to pay for his mistakes? Or will the new inflatable status of the Roseman team offer even more unjustified job security than Lurie’s conscript? Shouldn’t Lurie have to answer for these mistakes at some point? When will we be able to make sense of all this? Are these questions even answerable? And, more importantly, do we even want to know the answers?
Eagles are ‘close’ to Carson Wentz’s dissertation | Bears, Colts are expected to be final contenders – NJ.com
Carson Wentz’s time at the Eagles is coming to an end, a person with knowledge of his trading market told NJ Advance Media on Monday. “I think the ship sailed,” said the person, who was not authorized to speak in public and was given anonymity. “I expect him to go (Monday) or (Tuesday).” According to the person, the belief around the league is that the commercial market is down to the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts. While a third unknown team is believed to be in the mix, the source said the Bears and Colts are in the driver’s seat and that a deal is ‘close’. Although there is a feeling that GM Howie Roseman is trying to drive up the market, the person said that Colts GM Chris Ballard and Ryan Bears, GM GM, still remained ‘disciplined’ during negotiations.
3 thoughts on the Eagles’ upcoming trade with Wentz – NBCSP
2. The Eagles defended this whole situation in a royal way, but let’s not blame Wentz either. He is not innocent in all these things. His type A personality and his lack of accountability and unwillingness to be coached did not help. Did the Eagles create a culture that could allow the negative aspects of Wentz to flourish? Yes, probably. But Wentz is also an adult and he even sometimes admitted that he had to work on the relationship building part of his personality. And he would definitely have been able to handle things better when the Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts. Sure, the Eagles could have taken a player to help him and their decision to draft Hurts will always be a puzzle to me. But you just wish you would have seen more competitiveness from Wentz. Despite all that went wrong in 2020, Wentz possesses the talent to overcome a lot and we have never seen it.

NFL Refreshment Levels: Which Teams Will Look Most Like in 2021? – ESPN +
Priorities for this off-season: where do you start? It’s deeper than Carson Wentz’s struggle. The grid is just not very good. And to think that the Eagles could have a top QB they face in April’s draft. Decide now: Solve Wentz or set someone up, knowing that Jalen Hurts can develop through both scenarios. Continue from Zach Ertz, who would welcome a change at this point. He has one more year left, and the attempts at negotiation in the past have not gone well. Use draft capital to improve the secondary and wide recipient locations. And restructure a load of contracts to get under the cap.
Jemal Singleton leaves the UK for the Eagles – A Sea Of Blue
After joining the Kentucky Wildcats in the off-season, Jemal Singleton returned to the NFL. According to KSR’s Matt Jones, Singleton joins the Philadelphia Eagles as their coach and assistant coach. He has been hired to be Kentucky’s fullback coach and special team coordinator, so it’s a big vacancy that Mark Stoops has to fill for the second time this season. Singleton, who has been coaching since 2000, was hired by Kentucky in January after spending the past five years in the NFL, most recently with the Cincinnati Bengals. He also spent time with the Oakland Raiders and the Indianapolis Colts. Singleton was last a special team coordinator at Arkansas in 2015, the only time he has held the title in his career.
Every NFL Team’s Most Improved Player In 2020 – PFF
Philadelphia Eagles: WR Travis Fulgham. The receiving corps of the Eagles need someone, anyone, to act early in the 2020 season in the wake of poor performances and injuries. Fulgham answered that call. In the 2020 season without an NFL catch in his rookie 2019 campaign, Fulgham began his first career in Week 4 and led the NFL in reception yard for the next five weeks. The rest of his season was not nearly as impressive as several other receiving options began to return from injury, but his performance on the year as a whole was still impressive, given what everyone knew about the sixth round of Old Dominion this year .
Former NFL Mizzou player Jeremy Maclin is named Kirkwood’s next head coach – KSDK
The Kirkwood School District announced the next head coach for its soccer program this week – and it’s a household name for NFL and Mizzou soccer fans. Kirkwood High School athletic director Corey Nesslage will recommend that Jeremy Maclin be named the next head football coach. Maclin will succeed coach Farrell Shelton, who announced his retirement at the end of the 2020 football season. Shelton was head coach at Kirkwood for six seasons.
Seahawks Release Lineout Chance Warmack – Field Gulls
Warmack enters the market for free agencies with an impressive resume and is still only 29 years old. He was a top-10 pick after winning national titles under Nick Saban in Alabama and was the Tennessee Titans’ starting judge for the duration of his rookie contract. However, he was quite overwhelming and signed with the free agency at the Eagles where he spent two years as a backup guard and won another title (Super Bowl LII).
Giants’ Off-Season: 4 Important Areas to Address – Big Blue View
We have spent a lot of time discussing the costly and important decisions the Giants have to make on the defensive line Leonard Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson. The Giants’ list of unlimited free throws also includes edge Kyler Fackrell, Wayne Gallman, the attacking suit, Cameron Fleming, the rugby quarterback, Colt McCoy, and right-wing favorites Nate Ebner and Dion Lewis. How many will be back? How many players, on top of that, like Golden Tate, Kevin Zeitler, David Mayo and Cody Core will have to be sacrificed on top of the salary cap altar?
The NFL’s 5 Winners and 4 Losers of the 2020-2021 Season – SB Nation
Ron Rivera. The Washington coach did not allow something like cancer, squamous cell carcinoma to be exact, to keep him from coaching. He coached the treatment of the disease, led the Football Team to an unlikely NFC Eastern title and finally – and most importantly – emerged with clean health. What a year for Washington. Smith’s return. Rivera’s courage. You could even win Chase Young, who won the Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
