E3 2021 date: E3 returns June 12 as ‘re-imagined, all-virtual’ event

The organizer returned on Tuesday in 2021 as a ‘reimagined, all-virtual’ event. The E3 2021 takes place June 12-15 and includes content from Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games and Koch Media, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) said in a news release. release.

Game developers and publishers will be showcasing their games ‘directly to fans around the world’ at E3 2021, the ESA said. E3 2021 content will be accessible free of charge, thanks to unannounced global media partners.

“We’re developing this year’s E3 into a more inclusive event, but we’ll still look forward to thrilling fans with great revelations and insider events that make this event the indispensable hub for video games,” Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of ESA.

While this year’s E3 will be virtual, organizers say they are planning a custom E3 2022.

Last year’s E3 was canceled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The ESA canceled E3 2020 in March last year and said in a statement at the time: ‘Following growing and overwhelming concern about the COVID-19 virus, we felt it was the best way to do so during such an unprecedented global situation to continue. We are very disappointed because we can not keep the opportunity for our fans and supporters. ”

In the airspace, game publishers, media and other groups held a series of smaller game events spread through the summer and fall of 2020. Some of these events, such as Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, is confirmed to return in 2021. Companies like Sony and Electronic Arts, which have not been officially exhibited at E3 for years (and were not announced as part of this year’s expo), are likely to hold their own events without ESA’s plans.
