Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has not always had it easy to grow up.
The 48-year-old actor is the subject of ‘Young Rock’, a comedy television series that describes his childhood before his days as one of Hollywood’s biggest names.
In preparation for the program’s premiere on February 16, Johnson appeared at NBC’s TCA Press Tournament on Tuesday, remembering that he chose not to ‘take the easy way out’ to repeat his formative years.
In fact, according to People magazine, he calls the process ‘incredibly complicated’ and ‘incredibly tough’.

The star explained that although the program will focus on what happened in his life when he was 10, 15 and 18 years old, “there were a lot of things between the years … but it was complicated and the relationship I had with my father was incredibly complicated – it was fueled by hard love. ‘

The father of the “Ballers” star was Rocky Johnson, a WWE Hall of Famer who passed away in January 2020 at the age of 75.

“My dad was kicked out of his house at 13 and he was homeless, so that formed the man who raised me then,” Johnson said.
But, the star added, “in that complication came an extraordinary life that was full of travel.”
“I lived in 13 different countries when I was 13, and also lived in New Zealand,” he added.

Rocky is played by Joseph Lee Anderson in ‘Young Rock,’ and ‘he played my dad’s job very well,’ ‘Johnson said.

In addition, the star “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” hopes to provide a “different perspective” for people struggling with family.
“We did not want to take the traditional route or take the typical route you would think,” the actor teased. “But still, let’s talk about the complications.”
