A representative of the actor said on Thursday that Diamond, who is known for playing Samuel ‘Screech’ Powers in the teen series of the hit from the 90s, has completed his first round of chemotherapy treatment, with another to follow.
“Dustin is looking forward to spending more time with his girlfriend, playing his bass guitar / video games, as well as making videos for his fans on social media,” said Roger Paul, Diamond’s representative.
Diamond, who announced his diagnosis last week, will soon begin physical therapy as well, Paul added.
Diamond played the role of Screech for more than a decade and appeared in four different incarnations of the franchise “Saved by the Bell”.
Peacock is currently home to a reload of the series, in which Diamond has yet to appear.
