The Cincinnati Bengals already have a quarterback in Joe Burrow, the overall No. 1, from last year. With a run on quarterbacks expected in the first picks of this month’s NFL Draft, the Bengals, who currently have the No. 5 pick, could end up with one of the best non-quarterback prospects in the draft class.

With the knowledge in hand, the director of Bengals, player Duke Tobin, said that they are not going to get too cute if they are going to make their first choice later this month.

“We feel we’re in a good place,” Tobin said in a podcast with team broadcaster Dan Hoard. ‘We will be careful not to be too greedy and come from a place where we might lose a leading player and we feel we can get one of the leading players in this draft. We feel there are enough guys with the fifth choice in the concept to get a real guy that we feel comfortable with. And hit in an essential position. ”

Tobin referred to Florida tighthead prop Kyle Pitts, Oregon, who tackles Penei Sewell and LSU-wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase as all the type of player who is a big boost to the Bengals building process.

“All three are a high prospect at the top of the concept, and guys we feel can fit us in and make a better team,” Tobin said.

The Bengals have eight choices in total currently for this year’s draft. If every top player they would consider remained available at number 5, the Bengals might consider moving down a bit to add their award later in the draft. However, Tobin and the Bengals seem to want to keep it simple and take on one of the top talents that will be at their disposal when they go on the watch later this month.
