The driver wanted to strike Nicki Minaj‘s father in a fatal hit-and-run case turned himself in to police … TMZ confirmed.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the police have arrested the 70-year-old Charles Polevich, which the police believe is the person responsible for Robert Maraj‘s death. He was charged and charged with two offenses – he left the scene of the incident involving the death of a person and hampered or suppressed physical evidence.

According to the complaint … Polevich allegedly hit Maraj with his 1992 white Volvo at the intersection of Roslyn Rd. and Raff Ave. in the village of Mineola. Police said Polevich “when he got out of his vehicle, the victim asked him if he was not well, walked and returned to his vehicle and fled the scene.” Police say Polevich then drove to his home and avoided intersections and hid his vehicle in the detached garage at his residence.
We are told that Polevich’s bail was set at $ 250,000 and that he had to surrender his passport and that his trip to New York was restricted.
TMZ broke the story … The 64-year-old Robert died after being hit on Long Island on Friday night while on a hike. At the time, police told the driver fled the scene without a meaningful description of witnesses. Robert was rushed to a hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
Nicki and her father have been photographed together over the years. It is unclear what Nicki’s relationship with her father was before his tragic death.
