Indonesia’s Mount Sinabung erupted on Tuesday, sending volcanic materials into the air about 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) and depositing ash in nearby towns. Activity at the volcano in North Sumatra province has increased over the past week, with authorities recording 13 times when it released ash clouds.

Dramatic video from the Volcanological Survey of Indonesia shows how the ash plume stretches high in the air.

There were no new evacuations due to the activity and no reports of disruptions to flights in the region.

The 2,600-meter-long Sinabung was dormant for four centuries before erupting in 2010 and killing two people. In another eruption in 2014, 17 people died, while seven died in an eruption in 2016.
