Square Enix will be released by DeNA-developed team action RPG Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero’s Bonds for iOS and Android in the West, the publisher announced. Pre-registration is now available for Android via Google Play.
Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero’s Bonds was first announced in May 2020 in Japan, where it is known as Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: Tamashii no Kizuna and plans to release somewhere in 2021.
Square Enix is hosting an Android closed beta test for the west from April 7 to 15. Registration is now available until April 4th.

Story
Fight on, disciples of Avan!
In a world plagued by the forces of evil, a swordsman and his companions try to defeat Hadlar, the Dark Lord.
It has been many years since The Hero restored peace in the country …On an isolated island in the southern sea, a boy named Dai lives among monsters who would one day like to become a hero himself. However, everything changes when the Dark Lord is revived.
With another crisis facing the world, Dai promises his mentor, meets new friends and slowly learns about his own inevitable fate … This is the beginning of Dai’s adventure and his quest for a true hero to become!
Characters
- Dai When a baby was washed ashore on Dermline Island, Dai was raised by the budding shaman Brass. More recently, his latent talents flourished under the supervision of Avan, the hero who once saved the world from Hadlar.
- Pop An admirer of the hero Avan, Popp became his apprentice to train as a magician. He is easily carried away and tends to run away when things get tough, but he also has a compassionate side.
- Madam – She defends her hometown Nayle with the magic bullet gun that the hero Avan gave her. Maam is a strong wild girl who means business but she is full of kindness on the inside.
- A bakkie – This former hero serves as a mentor for Dai and his friends. In the past, he defeated the Dark Lord and saved the world. Despite his mischievous side, he has an unwavering will and is a gifted teacher.
- Crocodile – The commander of the Dark Army’s Furfang Legion, a contingent of evil monsters. Bold and proud, he does not fear death on the battlefield.
- Hyunckel The commander of the Dark Army’s Undead Legion, a war corps that has exceeded death itself. He fights with the Dark Armor Blade, which can ward off offensive spells. Although he was Avan’s first pupil, he harbored a deep resentment toward his former master.
- Hadlar Once known as the Dark Lord, his army of monsters were strong enough to threaten the entire world. Shortly after being defeated by Avan, he was resurrected by Vearn, the Dark King.
