JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Some experts compare the emergence of new COVID-19 variants with a category 5 hurricane that lies just off the coast. Are people who have been completely vaccinated against the virus safe?
Dr. Oz, who recently met with CNN’s chief medical expert, Dr. Sanja Gupta, chatted for the Oz program that airs Monday, joined The Morning Show to share that he is not as concerned about the variants as some experts.
“Although we have COVID variants in the UK, Brazil and South Africa, it is a cause for concern in Florida, but there are a few cases in the UK – the vaccination seems to be against it,” Oz said. “I’m not quite as panicky as some have made it seem.”
What Oz discussed with Gupta, it appears that about one-third of people with COVID have neurological effects.
“A big part of the COVID story that has not been discussed is that if you are healthy when you become COVID, you do much better,” Oz said. ‘Anything you can do – to cut off your sugar, hydrate – that goes 20% of the blood to the brain – omega-3 fats – it’s very beneficial to protect the brain. So if you get COVID, you will manage more effectively, we believe. ‘

The CDC recently issued new guidelines stating that people who are fully vaccinated who meet certain criteria will no longer have to be quarantined after exposure to someone with COVID-19.
The CDC recently issued new guidelines stating that a full two weeks after their second survey no longer need to be vaccinated after quarantine, exposed to someone with COVID-19.
‘If it is within three months of being vaccinated, you are almost certainly protected. I bet it’s a year, but we only have three months of data, ‘Oz said. ‘I’m actually encouraged that the CDC said that. Besides reducing the risk of serious illness by almost 100% … we now have new data that people become less infected so that they will succeed less – so that you can do things that other people cannot do. ”
Oz said we see an encouraging downward trajectory of new cases and diseases. He believes that if the next few months are over – between warmer weather and 100 million people being vaccinated – the CDC may loosen its security protocols.

“We have a pretty good chance of having a normal summer,” Oz said.
