Dr Fauci joins Snapchat to boost vaccine confidence among target demographics in WH media flash: report

The Biden administration has reportedly partnered with Twitter and Facebook to notify users of their eligibility for COVID-19 as states move to allow all U.S. residents 16 and older eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

An unnamed administration official told Axios that the White House plans to launch a targeted ‘media blitz’ on Monday that will target specific demographics that tend to show higher vaccination rates, including Latino and Black communities. The digital push will also target conservatives on social media, the store reports.

The social media platforms will send press releases to inform users of their vaccination, Axios reported.

White House officials are also believed to be taking part in the campaign, appearing in interviews with Telemundo, All Ag News and radio host Rickey Smiley, who is popular with black communities, Axios said.

The administration will also include senior officials, including dr. Anthony Fauci, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra, the Surgeon-General Vivek Murthy and the Assistant Secretary of the HSV, Rachel Levine, call for additional purposeful actions.

The administration official confirmed to Axios that Fauci, which rose to national stars at the start of the pandemic, will target younger demographics with informative Snapchat snippets.

According to the report, the White House is aware that a flash on social media “may not be the most effective voice to promote the vaccine to certain sections of the population.”

“In this vein, 6,000 community partners, including churches and physicians, will receive by email a social media tool to disseminate it,” Axios wrote.

For her part, Vice President Kamala Harris will be interviewed by the Carolina Peacemaker, a black community weekly in Greensboro, NC, writes Axios.
