There is a new development in the divorce of Dr. Dre by Nicole Young: According to several reports, the rapper agreed to pay his estranged wife nearly $ 2 million in temporary marriage support.
Dre’s wife since 1996 has filed lawsuits in September that pay $ 1.9 million in installments each month plus another $ 5 million to pay her attorney.
In his then official response, Dre said the couple had a prenuptial agreement. Young argued that she was forced to sign the document and that her husband later tore it up.
In an agreement reached by their lawyers, the artist ‘Next Episode’ does not pay the $ 5 million. Young will apparently be responsible for her own legal costs.
As TMZ reports Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, will continue to pay his wife’s living expenses at her home in Malibu and the cost of her mother’s place in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. He is not responsible for the cost of Young’s security. The conditions apply at least until their next divorce hearing, which is set for April.
Yahoo Entertainment released Dre’s representative for comment.
In June 2019, Forbes Dre was estimated to be worth $ 800 million – between his music and his many businesses – and ranked second on the list of the richest rappers in the world. Six months later, the magazine crowned him as the deserving music artist of the decade, even above Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Taylor Swift, thanks to the $ 950 million he raised during that period.
He reportedly signed this latest deal with Young from his hospital bed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA, where he was taken Monday after having a brain aneurysm. In an update Tuesday night, however, Dre himself said he was ‘doing well’.
