PHOENIX – Director of the Department of Health Services in Arizona, dr. Cara Christ, did not allow questions during a media event on Wednesday for frontline health workers receiving their second dose of coronavirus vaccine.

Dr Christ also received her second vaccination and left the press conference shortly afterwards without offering a question-and-answer opportunity, despite the COVID-19 crisis worsening in our state.

In mid-December, Governor Doug Ducey and dr. Christ together as they visit a vaccination site and request Arizonans to get the vaccine.

On a media availability Wednesday, ABC15 reporter Mike Pelton said dr. Marjorie Bessel, clinical officer at Banner Health, asked if she believed that dr. Christ and Government Ducey have done a great job helping hospitals fight this boom.

“The state of Arizona has now become the hottest hotspot for COVID,” said Dr. Bessel said. “We are not working well with this virus at the moment during this boom of the pandemic. We need additional mitigation, we need to apply the mitigation activities, and we all need to do our part.

Valleywise Health also noted on Wednesday that they are keeping patients in emergency rooms because there are no available ICUs or beds available.

“The wait can be from a few hours to more than 24 or 48 hours in the emergency department until we are able to get someone from the emergency department to move in a hospital bed,” said Michael Michael, head of clinical officers. Michael White.

Dr. White also urged people to do their part while advocating for more mitigation efforts to help ease the burden on hospitals.

“I’ve never seen anything like this personally in all the years I’ve been providing health care,” Dr White said.
